ADVANTAGE GRAND CANYON

Charter vs. Private vs. DIY—What’s the Difference?

Charter (Exclusive Commercial Trip) Private DIY Permit Trip
You book every seat on a licensed outfitter’s launch—our specialty.
You pull your own river permit, rent boats, handle food, guides, and logistics.
Same guides, gear, safety standards as regular guests—just 100 % your crew.
Amazing but requires jackpot permit luck and months of prep.
We compare 16 operators, reserve the date, and manage payments.
We don’t arrange DIY permits, but we’re happy to explain the process in a quick call.

Most groups want a commercial charter: all the magic of the Colorado River with none of the red-tape headaches. That’s where we shine.

Why Charter Through Advantage Grand Canyon?

One conversation → every outfitter.

We filter permits, raft styles, and guide teams so you don’t scroll sixteen websites at midnight.

No mark-up.
Outfitters pay us; you never do. We often score discounted seats when a cancellation frees a launch.

Free seven-day hold.

Lock your preferred date—no deposit—while your group juggles PTO requests and flight checks.

Unified paperwork.

One contract, one payment dashboard, one point of contact from deposit to take-out.

24/7 canyon veterans on call.

Our team has logged 200+ commercial and private trips; we know the sandbars and the permit office by name.

Here’s a taste of what to expect:

  • 🥞 Breakfasts are big and satisfying, with options like pancakes and bacon, breakfast burritos, French toast & sausage, or fresh fruit and bagels with lox.
  • 🥪 Lunches are quick and tasty: cold cut sandwiches, taco salad, Caesar wraps, and more—perfect for fueling up between rapids.

All cooking is done on the river using top-notch backcountry kitchen setups. Meals are hot, fresh, and plentiful, and there’s always enough for second.
