Andy Demetriou
Founder & Director of Adventures
Andy’s path to founding Advantage Grand Canyon was shaped by a blend of entrepreneurship, hospitality, and an enduring love for the outdoors.
After college, he launched a business career before moving into hospitality, working for a boutique hotel group with properties across Chicago and New York. There, he trained managers and general managers in guest service, operations, and attention to detail — skills that would later define his approach to client care at AGC.
During one of his vacations, Andy rafted the Grand Canyon with a friend — an experience that changed everything. Inspired by the beauty of the Canyon and the camaraderie he witnessed between three generations sharing the same adventure, he decided to leave corporate life behind to help others discover that same magic.
Over the next several years, Andy rafted the Colorado River more than 15 times, exploring with nearly every outfitter to understand their unique trip styles, equipment, and philosophies. This firsthand knowledge became the foundation of Advantage Grand Canyon, which he launched in 2012 to make trip planning simpler, smarter, and more personal.
A lifelong outdoorsman, Andy has trekked to Everest Base Camp, hiked the Annapurna Circuit, climbed Kilimanjaro, and rafted rivers across the U.S. Yet the Grand Canyon remains his favorite place on earth — a timeless landscape that continues to inspire him to connect others to its wonder.

Adventure Travel Specialist
Alejandra joined Advantage Grand Canyon in 2019, bringing a friendly, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented approach to every traveler she helps.
Her love for the Grand Canyon began through a local hiking community — a passion that evolved into years of backpacking, rafting, and exploring the Canyon’s hidden corners. Today, she channels that same enthusiasm into preparing guests for life on the river: what to pack, what to expect, and how to make the most of every moment on the water.
Alejandra is known for her calm, friendly demeanor and her ability to make first-time rafters feel completely at ease. She especially enjoys hearing from guests after their trip — often with stories and photos from what they describe as “the most remarkable experience of their lives.”
When she’s not helping guests plan adventures, Alejandra can be found traveling in her truck camper with her dog, exploring remote corners of the Southwest, and spending as much time outdoors as possible.
Her favorite moment in the Canyon? “Sleeping under the stars — nothing beats the view from within the Canyon.”
